Too much rain for us
|
|
Bocas del Toro is all very well and ideal when it is not raining. The trouble is there's too much of it and so we decided not to
live there. However there are many sunny days and a lot of foreigners have settled there and built nice houses. If you like
the boat life, water taxis, and don't mind rain then it could be the place for you. Certainly it was the best place we found in Panama
and there were some lots available with sandy beaches but fast being purchased. Very picturesque and the islands are delightful.
There was even an indian restaurant.
After looking in Panama for 3 months we at first considered living there but once the rains hit it was just too
much and we left to try Margarita Island in Venezuela and haven't regreted it yet.
The climate is 1000 times better with nearly
90% sunny days. The rain in Panama is something else. It pours very hard for half the day or more and makes a huge
continual noise on the house roof. You can hardly see to drive and it rains nearly every day during the rainy
season which lasts a lot of the year. Miserable and much worse than England.
